Extroverted versus Introverted Personal Organizing

Everytime someone says "Get Organized", they imply first that you are not and second you need to develop the organizational system they have in mind. But it is a common wisdom that their approach will not work for the person they are recommending it to. It is taken for granted that organizing ones self is an individual process. Why? People's personalities vary so widely from one another that the chance of a given approach working is low. However, individuals can be divided into Extroverts and Introverts. The same can be said for organizing styles. You know them both. An extroverted style is one in which the organizer applies external systems to the organzation of their daily lives. Think in terms of contact managers, PDAs,contact lists, and closet organizers. An introverted approach is one in which a person organizes the internal aspects of themselves. For instance, New Years Resolutions, long term personal goals and lifestyle changes would qualify as introverted organizing. The irony is that when most pundits make their "Get Organized" recommendation, they usually mean the external or extroverted approaches. Yet as you read this, it should occur to you that every person in your life at some point or another has organized both ways. extended mugen battery for smartphones

Personal growth is the rage. This makes sense when you consider that we are living longer and rewriting old age as we go along. Part of the personal development craze should include a healthy portion of training in both types of organizing. We now have the knowledge, the longevity, and the philosophy to make organizing a life long pursuit.

Introverted Organizers Out in the Cold

It has been the introverts who have been left behind by the organization industry. If only it was as easy as putting in a West Coast storage solution. However, if you feel free enough to identify youself as an introvert, you can begin using many of the accepted techniques to clear out the clutter that may be preventing you from thinking straight and producing an improved lifestyle change. It isn't just a question of putting things into order, in essence "Tidying Up". It is a process of redefining the external and internal evironments using common sense approaches.. Everyone at every age could benefit from an organization training program.
