If Only

We envy individuals on the inside. These are people who supposedly have the right connections and can make them work to their advantage. Secret societies, private clubs, and wide spread networks of privileged business cronies occupy a central role in the life of the public and the media. If only strategic relationships were within the reach of the ordinary citizen. Chewable Sildenafil

Strategic Networks

Strategic means "highly important to or an integral part of a strategy or plan of action". For networks secret or otherwise to work, there has to be a purpose and a plan of action. Friendship alone is usually not enough to keep a group together. Well networked individuals usually belong to groups for mutual protection, personal recognition, commonalty of ideas, political influence and a hundred other reasons. Strategic networking is present in the majority of communities. It is open and widely accepted. Some of the best known and respected U.S. networks are the Rotary, Elks, VFW, Masons, K of C, Democrats, Republicans to name a few. These organizations exercise considerable influence within their respective communities. The question is how does an ordinary person use this information to promote their plans of action?

Personal Definition

In order to participate within a strategic network, there has to be two clear and distinct matches: purpose and community. The community will reject an individual that does not take up their standard and fails to fit in according to the community code of conduct. Therefore, an individual seeking influence through strategic networks must find the organization they match. This in turn requires a sincere personal definition of purpose and community. As a member, it is inevitable that the sincerity of one's purpose and commitment to the community will be challenged and need to be affirmed. The prospective member should ask themselves many questions such as:

  • Do I like what the group stands for?
  • Am I comfortable with the group's membership?
  • Am I willing to undertake the obligations of membership?
  • Am I willing to spend a considerable time with my fellow members?
  • Do I belong here?
  • What will I do if I can not achieve my needs through membership?

Strategic Membership

To get on the inside and form strategic relationships is not a task lightly undertaken. However, strategic membership within influential groups is not restricted to the powerful and well connected. It is available where there is a common purpose and a sense of community. Stories abound concerning ordinary individuals achieving high office and position through their affiliations. It is just a matter of picking the right ones.
